Sweet and Sour Meatballs

1 pkg. onion soup mix
1/4 cup water
2 eggs
2 lb. of ground beef
1 10 oz. can sauerkraut, drained
1 8 oz. can whole cranberry sauce
3/4 cup chili sauce
3/4 cup water
1/2 cup brown sugar

Mix soup mix, water, eggs and ground beef together and make into meatballs. Mix remaining ingredients together and pour over meatballs. Bake 20 minutes covered and another 20 minutes uncovered at 350. May be served as an appetizer or over hot rice or noodles or mashed potatoes. Can be made the day before.

Germans at that time did not use much spaghetti and instead put it over mashed potatoes as well as on noodles.
