Land use, proper development and sewers

The CCAC meeting will be held on AUGUST 12, at the Greywolf Elementary School-Library. 171 Carlsborg Rd.

This meeting involves ‘Carlsborg’ density somewhat, a ‘Public Information meeting update. by Jim McEntire – one of our County Commissioners.

I intend to be there (6:30-8:00) just to get to know some of the people and to make sure that I can speak on the “next meeting agenda. Topics to be announced for the NEXT meeting.
Towards the end there will be a public comment period. I might have something to say about the density and re-zoning stuff. Basically, who owns the large tract of land  CR-V1, and is located between Spath and Runnion Rd. Just North of the the school. The land between is CR-1.

Concerned that this property is also bisected by Matriotti Creek, one of the only properties inovlving a riparian issue. 12-14 DU/acre. !!!  This will be a big change in the area. I will try to find out more this weekend. (I would think Fish and Wildlife would be involved!)

A few related topics.

County puts freeze on Carlsborg development.

“As a hold on development in Carlsborg stretches into its fourth year, one Clallam County commissioner is not inclined to continue interim controls past August. …. Commissioner Mike Chapman said he is “frustrated beyond belief” the community has been at a standstill for so long.”

The Carlsborg UGA was ruled as non compliant by the Washington State Growth Management Hearings Board in 2008 for not having a sewer plan in place.”  ALL about that damn sewer. BIG MONEY!  and at the Sequim City Council a HIGHER density number was mentioned than the 12-14.

McEntire requested staff expedite the process by at least a year. “I think this could easily be done in far less time,” he said, adding property rights have been hampered for far too long.”

With the next Republican Commissioner Bill Peach  winning this will all be moot.I assume that the August 26th meeting will be at the same place.

I posted some of this on my website. Might be boring, but do attend. I do intend to ask some questions!

‘Water quality in Carlsborg is rated at 60 (out of 100) and like air, represents the quality of Washington’s water supply based upon the following 15 indicators, fish consumption advisories, wetland loss, urban runoff potential, estuarine pollution susceptibility, conventional pollutant loads above permitted limits, population change, contaminated sediments, agricultural runoff potential, toxics, conventional pollutants source water for drinking water systems, designated use support, wetland and aquatic species at risk, toxic pollutant loads above permitted limits, hydrologic modification created by dams in this part of Washington.’

Carlsborg UGA Planning Efforts

Interesting prospect of having another large high density ‘Parkwood’ Village or even worse be developed north of the school.
