\"\"<\/a>Today I went to the local dump, usually the only reason I go to P.A. Imagine my surprise to find next to my car a stack of super great heavy duty plastic shelving 2 by 3 that are slotted for drainage. (similar to picture to the side)<\/p>\n

Heavy duty legs as well. TEN or so. I start loading them up for my local Bee Club and find the attendant super come over and tell me to put it all back. Scavenging is NOT ALLOWED once it hits the floor.<\/p>\n

I argued to no avail and even suggested they pull them out and put them into the recycle section they have. No answer to that. What the xxx? This was perfectly recyclable material for a shop or barn or in my case for BEE HIVE stands. So now it gets dumped, shipped and buried east of the mountains.<\/p>\n

Could make one cry.<\/span><\/p>\n

One could argue liability issues but this was not the case. All were in a pile and had just been dumped a few minutes before. Even if it had been a legitimate issue they could probably get away with saying they had warned me not to pick it up and I refused. Or as I suggested agree to pull it out and recycle it themselves.Be it for a barn, workshop these were totally functioning shelves. Why, oh why did the dumper guy not take it to the recycle place and save himself the 10 dollars at that.One could argue liability issues but this was not the case. Our society is drowning in garbage and other countries now are not taking the stuff and we continue to plasticize ourselves into oblivion.<\/p>\n

I just sent the city manager and the recycling garbage links this message. My only mistake was in not taking the person\u2019s name and pursuing it. Trouble was I was heading to a doctors appointment. Had that not been the case I would have made an issue of it.This is similar to what was being thrown away.<\/a><\/p>\n

Such garbage.\u00a0 I wasn\u2019t salvaging … I was properly attempting to \u201cre-load and recycle\u201d something that had been tossed (and costing 10.00 to do so) rather than taking it to the SEQUIM recycle place.\u00a0 As a friend responded \u201cSuch a shame.\u00a0 I\u2019ve seen where they dump all that stuff in Eastern Washington…\u00a0\u00a0 grand mountains of trash that grace the skyline as far as you can see.\u00a0\u00a0 (In a once beautiful place called \u201cHorse Heaven Hills\u201d).\u00a0 And the millions of seagulls filling the sky taking shifts thrashing through the massif.\u00a0 What absolutely obscene creatures we are.\u201d (Greg)<\/td>\n\u00a0\"\"<\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
