I am forwarding a response to a message I got from Dennis Lefevre and the upcoming CCAC meeting. I look forward to meeting you and some of the others that I have spoken to but have never met. I will definitely follow the Aug. 26th. discussion about the Sequim\/Carlsborg sewer issue.
\nThe FIRST meeting <\/strong>will be held on AUGUST 12,<\/strong> at the Greywolf Elementary School-Library. 171 Carlsborg Rd.6:30 to 8:00. (Important update about this meeting.)<\/a><\/strong>

Thank you, I will most certainly be there.<\/span><\/p>\n

I have to admit how surprised I was by the extent of the “Carlsborg” area. I had no idea that it included Parkwood and the smaller mobile home parks across the highway. <\/span><\/p>\n

CCAC vacancies??? Sigh, I don’t live in those boundaries. Nor do I live in the Sequim boundary. <\/span>
\nHow does the CDC address the people living between? – also affected. Seems to me that some people in the unincorporated areas between deserve some representation as decisions made in Carlsborg and Sequim will affect them as well.<\/span><\/p>\n

Regarding the sewage issue which I am sure you know I am against. I will simply suggest that this be held off until the Growth Management act is updated in 2016. Until Sequim addresses some of these issues I think it is for city officials to chart out their plans. Then and only then proceed to consider processing sewage from another municipality.<\/span><\/p>\n

I urge the updating of these “Comprehensive plans” before making major long, long term decisions like the Sequim\/Carlsborg sewer marriage.<\/span>
\nWhat I didn’t address was that these decisions will be made during an election where one County commissioner will be changed and a CDC position hopefully.<\/span><\/p>\n

I certainly look forward to finally meeting Bob Martin and Steve Gray.<\/span><\/p>\n

Let’s take this beautiful area back and make it something our children and grandchildren can take pride in. You see, I feel we are borrowing it from them. Something our politicians seem to forget. VOTE for a change come November!<\/span><\/p>\n

‘FAILURES’ of proper planing are part the responsibility of the DCD. Director of Community Development. Commissioners and the fat cats of City Council. From what I see Mary Ellen Winborn has an architects approach. Developments and individual projects need to have a common sense approach, including the input of the public (or customer) and the contractor. Clallam County certainly needs enhancement and a strong advocates for change.<\/span><\/p>\n

Proper stewardship of this beautiful county seems to have been forgotten.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

While I am on a political roll here I will also express my displeasure as to how WA state elects officials. The top “two” primary system sucks. At worst we eliminate good alternatives while the well healed Democratic and Republican candidates always win. Worse yet you could have a choice between two Republicans or two Democrats.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Sissi Bruch, Bryon, Bill Peach election is a good example. The primary (usually around 40%) will delete one of them. I would much rather eliminate the primary and have the option to vote as in the Irish or Australian system – my preference, 1, 2 and three. <\/span>
\n In the first drawing one deals with the ‘first’ choice and if he or she gets more than 50 percent of the votes, they win. If not, the second choice is added to the first and so on. I think this is a much more intelligent way to elect officials. <\/span><\/p>\n

In my example. Sissi #1, Bryon #2 and Bill Peach #3. So should Bill Peach be ahead but not above 50%. The second round would add the second choice to his tally and to the others. If there still was no 50% winner, the third choice would be added to everyone’s vote count. By then you would have the winner. If not, the person with the most votes would win. Variations of this idea exist.<\/span><\/p>\n
